After using the internet to research, we discovered this a Luna Moth Caterpillar. We decided to make a habitat and keep the caterpillar in hopes of watching the transition to moth.
Here is Luna's habitat. That night Luna wrapped up in a leaf. In our research we learned that it takes about 3 weeks for this metamorphous to take place. We are counting down the days.
What an awesome habitat you all made for Luna! I am very impressed with your research skills. I will be sure to tell Room 202 Kiddos. Maybe we can stop by for a visit one day!
